Paul Currah – Freelance Graphic + Digital Designer

Paul Currah is an award-winning multi-disciplinary graphic designer, delivering creative, innovative and engaging solutions to communication problems across brand identity, print, packaging, environmental and digital.

After graduating from Norwich School of Art and Design in 2005, he went on to work at leading design agencies in London. In 2008, whilst at top design agency The Partners, Paul Currah became the youngest winner of a prestigious D&AD Black Pencil for his role as designer on The National Gallery’s Grand Tour campaign. Previous Black Pencil winners have included the designers of The Guardian newspaper, The London Eye and the Apple iPhone. The National Gallery Grand Tour campaign went on to feature in the prolific Brit Insurance Designs of the Year exhibition at the Design Museum in London.

Paul’s playful approach has been successfully applied to a diverse range of projects for national and international clients. These include Spiegel & Grau (Publishers – USA), Deloitte (Professional services – USA), Macmillan Cancer Support (Charity – UK) and Mr Singh’s Bangras (Indian sausages – UK). Paul begins a project by understanding his client’s requirements. The brand’s personality, tone of voice, objectives, target audience and competitors are all evaluated to ensure a point of difference is created. He puts intelligent ideas at the very heart of everything he does – striving to create outstanding work that is distinctive, engaging and above all, memorable.

With a variety of experience in brand identity, print, packaging, environmental and digital, Paul Currah is able to offer a multitude of skills to his clients. So whether the client requires a logo, a range of packaging, a set of flash animations, a website (or all of the above), he can ensure that the whole experience is positive, consistent and effective.

His work has won several awards around the world including accolades from D&AD, Design Week, Benchmarks, Art Directors Club, New York Festivals, Cannes Design Lions, Clio, M&M and Guardian Megas. See a full list of awards here.

Paul went freelance in 2010 and now works from his studio by the sea in Poole (near Bournemouth), Dorset which he shares with his fiancé, the illustrator Hayley Potter and their studio assistant Mr Bumble the Bedlington Terrier. Paul works with a diverse mix of local and international clients and has been described as being one of the nicest chaps in the industry.
